- Five GTS scooters get design, feature tweaks
- Available in 125cc, 300cc engines
The Italian group Piaggio has given quite a few updates to its Vespa GTS range. These facelifted scooters were revealed at the 2018 EICMA show in Milan.
This range includes five scooters - the Vespa GTS, GTS Touring, GTS Super, GTS SuperSport and the Vespa GTS SuperTech. All these scooters have received cosmetic updates in the form of new handlebars, chrome front and new honeycomb motif displayed on the grilles. The seat is new where new padding and upholstery has been done. A lot of work has gone to expand the storage capacity which now takes two open face helmets.
The GTS SuperTech comes gets a new smartphone compliant full-colour 4.3in TFT instrument cluster which speed, clock fuel level and ambient temperature. All scooters will also feature LED lighting to the front and rear to maximise visibility to other road users.
This range gets 125cc single-cylinder engine and new 300cc four-stroke unit which is the most engine ever installed on a Vespa – producing around 22.7bhp. This mill is Euro 5 standard ready too.
The GTS range is not sold in India, but expect some of the new features make its way to the Indian models next year.
