An electric Harley-Davidson has been spotted on the sets of the next Avengers movie in South Korea. VisorDown, who has posted pictures of the bike suggests that this bike has many production ready parts of which some are noticeable stock parts from the American two-wheeler maker’s parts bin.
The Harley-Davidson motorcycle sports many US market road legal requirements like side reflectors on the front and rear, stock Harley-Davidson brakes and most visibly the fact that the rear hugger envelops the upper half of the wheel, also a legal requirement in the US.
The report suggests that battery pack and power unit powering the bike both look production ready and are expected to make their way to the final bike. The Avengers and its superhero spinoffs (to be precise, Captain America - after all what is more American than a Harley) have visibly strong ties with Harley-Davidson fuelling the belief that this is a production version of the latter’s electric motorcycle.
If Harley does produce this bike, then it is expected to be quite a hit and may even make electric bikes popular. While this bike sports a very V-rod(ish) look, we expect that Harley may even produce an electric version of any of its classic cruisers to widen the appeal and fan base. This also shows that Harley is on a plan to diversify its product range and this will be the second major product after the RevolutionX engine.
Edit: Harley-Davidson has published teaser video for the electric motorcycle and is expected to unveil it tomorrow.
