- All current models of the Bajaj Pulsar range will receive a BS-VI motor update
- Will be equipped with fuel-injection system
- Bajaj also working on next-generation Pulsar
The Bajaj Pulsar series is the longest running model range in the company’s portfolio. From the recently launched Pulsar 125 to the evergreen Pulsar 220F and the modern RS200, the brand seems to have no plans of concluding the Pulsar identity anytime soon. In fact, with the deadline for introduction of BS-VI compliant motorcycles set at 1 April 2020, Bajaj will be retaining the entire Pulsar range, comprising of eight models.
To comply with the stringent emission norms of Bharat Stage 6, the respective displacement engines powering the Pulsar models will be updated with a programmed fuel-injection system along with the provision of an OBD port and other components. Expect these changes to marginally affect the bikes existing performance figure while witnessing a small hike in retail cost.
At the same time, Bajaj is also aware that the distinctive Pulsar image has aged over time. So, the Pune-based bike maker is effectively working on a next-generation Pulsar. While the first model to receive the revamp is still unknown, it will have a fresh design with a newly-developed motor and most likely also an all-new chassis. What's more, in the light of the fact that the existing models will be updated with a BS-VI motor in April, expect a prototype or test mule to show up towards the end of 2020.
