There is a rumour circulating on the Internet that Erik Buell Racing has been fully bought by Hero MotoCorp. While both the companies haven’t said anything officially about it, we believe if this is true, we will surely hear something in the next few days.
As per a Facebook post by EBR, the company was supposed to go for an auction on July 21st, where its properties would have been sold through bidding. However, nothing concrete happened on that day, making us believe that Hero MotoCorp might have already talked to the company to buy it 100 per cent.
Few months ago, Hero MotoCorp bought 49 per cent shares of EBR for around Rs 150 crore and the American manufacturer became the main technology partner for the company. However, EBR didn’t get the money as expected and that led to its bankruptcy. This entire episode has revealed some nice business strategy by Hero MotoCorp. So let’s wait for an official statement from both the companies.
