Erik Buell Racing has teased an image of their upcoming motorcycle on their Facebook official page. Although the company is still tight lipped about the new product, it is expected to be the street legal production version of the 1190RS race spec motorcycle. The motorcycle is likely to be called the 1190RX and will be showcased in next few months.
The images show a motorcycle having a very aggressive riding stance, pillion seat, foot pegs, turn indicators and mirrors. The engine is expected to be based on the 1190RS liquid-cooled V twin engine that churns out 175bhp at 9750 rpm and 132Nm at 9400rpm. The engine is mated to six-speed gearbox and the motorcycle has a kerb weight of 176kg.
As per EBR’s official website, they have three future models in lineup, codenamed RX, SX and AX. These codenames may refer to 1190RX street motorcycle, 1190SX standard motorcycle and 1190AX adventure motorcycle. All three motorcycles might derive its engine from the 1190RS race spec model.
Hero MotoCorp owns 49.2 per cent stake in Erik Buell Racing and now is planning increase investment aiming for majority stake. The Indian auto major might consider launching the upcoming EBR motorcycles here in the coming months to make its presence in the growing premium motorcycles segment.
