Erik Buell Racing has unveiled their latest creation, the 1190RX motorcycle at the 2013 American International Motorcycle Expo in the US yesterday. This is a street legal high-performance motorcycle that is based on the 1190RS superbike and has been priced at $18,995 (Rs 11.68 lakh).
The EBR 1190RX is powered by 1190cc V-Twin liquid- cooled engine that churns out 185bhp at 10,600 rpm and peak torque of 137.8Nm at 8200 rpm which assures maximum power to the rider. It also comes with a lot of rider-focused features as well.
The mill is mated to a six-speed gearbox and the motorcycle has a kerb weight of 190kg. It gets the Pirelli Diablo Rosso Corsa 120/70 ZR-17 tyre at the front and 190/55 section at the rear. The Pirelli Diablo Rosso Corsa are the most versatile hypersport tyres available for use on the road and track, designed for modern faired and naked sport bikes. Braking power comes from 386mm single perimeter rotor 8-piston caliper at the front and 220mm 2-piston Hayes performance brake caliper at the rear.
Even though the 1190RX is based on the RS model, the company claims development of 426 different parts for this machine. The motorcycle features a multi-function instrument cluster that allows the rider to play with the traction control and also get access to system diagnostics, track performance data and service intervals.
The 1190RX is available in three colours- Striking Yellow, Galactic Black and Racing Red with Charcoal and Gunsmoke colour as the secondary body colour and engine wrap respectively. Thinking if the EBR 1190RX will make its way in India? You never know. Hero MotoCorp might start selling this machine through Hero dealerships.
