- Evoke electric motorcycle spotted in India
- Claimed to deliver 130kmph top speed and 200km range
- India launch might take place soon
In August this year, we had told you about the Evoke 6061 electric motorcycle which was unveiled by the Beijing-based EV maker, Evoke Motorcycles, in China. To our surprise, one of the models from this manufacturer was recently spied in India, hinting that the company might be planning to step into the Indian two-wheeler market soon.
Unlike the 6061’s power cruiser stance, the spied electric bike sported a street bike styling with a high-slung profile. The body work incorporated a round headlamp, beefy fuel tank-like panel, angular extensions and a sharp tail with split grab rails. Typical of an electric bike, it incorporated modern bits like full-LED lighting and a fully-digital console. With a straight handlebar, split seat and centre-set footpegs, it should offer a commanding yet relaxed riding stance.
Alongside the spy shots of the electric bike, a chart showing its performance numbers was also leaked. The motorcycle produces 25.1bhp of maximum power and 116.6Nm of peak torque. The claimed top speed stands at 139kmph while the 0-100kmph acceleration time is shown to be six seconds. What’s further impressive is that its full-battery riding range is up to 200km.
With a host of Chinese electric two-wheelers being on sale in India through Indian companies, it’s highly likely that Evoke too will follow the same route to bring its products in India. At present, there’s no information available about its launch timeline and prices. But if the brand is gearing up for the India launch, more details should emerge soon.
