Making its foray into the Indian electric two-wheeler market, Rissala Electric Motors Pvt. Ltd., a newly emerging electric vehicle company has launched its Evolet brand of electric e-scooters. The company’s initial product portfolio comprises of three e-scooters Polo, Derby and Pony. The company also launched an all-electric quad bike called Warrior which according to the company, is the first electric quad bike in India.
First up, is the Polo. The e-scooter features a contemporary Italian styling offering a fresh appeal for those who travel short distances every day. The company claims the Polo to offer easy manoeuvrability for urban commuters. The company claims the Polo can cover a distance of up to 60 km on one full charge from the battery. Evolet is offering the Polo in two variants Polo EZ and Polo Classic. While the former features a 48V/24Ah VRLA battery the latter receives a 48V/24Ah Lithium-ion Battery. The scooters are priced at Rs 44,499 and Rs 54,499, respectively.
Next is the Derby, a dynamic looking electric scooter with muscular looks. It has the same performance and range figures as the Polo with a slightly larger battery. Powered by a waterproof BDLC motor, the Derby is also offered in two variants- Derby EZ with 60 V/30 Ah VRLA battery and Derby Classic with 60 V/30 Ah lithium-ion Battery. Price of Derby EZ is Rs 46499 and Derby Classic is Rs 59999.
The third e-scooter is the Polo Pony which also features a waterproof BLDC motor that is capable of producing 250 watts of power. Top speed and range remain the same at 25 kmph and 60 km. Evolet is offering the Polo Pony in two variants – Polo Pony EZ with 48 V/24Ah VRLA battery and Polo Pony Classic with 48V/24 Ah lithium-ion Battery. Price-wise, Polo Pony EZ carries a sticker price of Rs 39,499 while the Polo Pony Classic retails at Rs 49,499.
Last but not least is the Warrior. An all-electric quad bike which is claimed by the manufacturer to be first of its kind in the country. The Warrior is powered by a waterproof BLDC motor with a potent pea power output of 3000 watt that is capable of propelling the quad bike to 60 kmph and reverse up to 20 kmph. The Warrior is available with 72 V/ 40 Ah Lithium-ion battery and has a 50 km per charge range. The quad bike has been priced at Rs 1.40 lakhs.
The company is offering all models with a lithium-ion battery as standard but for buyers looking at more economical options can have their vehicle equipped with a Lead-Acid battery as well. The higher-spec variants of the e-scooters are IOT-enabled and can be linked using the Evolet app, which provides the user with a host of information such as battery health, battery status, GPS, and security tracking. One will also get a notification as to when the vehicle is due for service. Rissala is also offering a fast charger for shorter charging duration to charge the battery within 3 hours.
Rissala has its manufacturing facility located in Bilaspur (Haryana), spread over 1,00,000 sq.ft, with world-class designs, manufacturing, and testing, with international quality standards and after-sales services. For the initial phase, Rassala is targeting at Delhi-NCR, Rajasthan, Punjab, Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh and Haryana markets. With bookings available only through dealerships, deliveries are expected to start from October.
