- 2021 KTM RC 200 India launch likely next month
- Gets a host of updates
- Is likely to be priced around Rs 2.2 lakh
KTM is likely to launch the all-new RC 200 in India in September. The company has been spotted testing the motorcycle in the country multiple times and the recently leaked images revealed nearly all details of the motorcycle.
The current-gen KTM RC 200 is priced at Rs 2.08 lakh (ex-showroom) and we can expect the all-new model to cost a premium and retail at around Rs 2.20 lakh. And to justify the extra money, the new RC 200 also boasts of significant upgrades that set it apart from its predecessor. To begin with, it gets a new design that has been inspired by the RC8. The signature dual-LED projector lamps have made way for a single unit that is likely to sport an LED DRL. It also gets an aggressively shaped fairing and a seemingly larger fuel tank. KTM has also fitted the new RC 200 with a revised sub-frame that has resulted in a relatively wider pillion seat.
Apart from the refreshed styling, the new KTM RC 200 also sports a different set of wheels. It now gets five-spoke units in place of the 10-spoke wheels that feature on the current model. Nevertheless, the 199cc, single-cylinder engine that churns out 24bhp and 19Nm is likely to remain vastly unchanged. Even the RC 200’s suspension and braking hardware are expected to remain untouched. However, it could see new features in the form of a new instrument cluster. While it looks similar to the TFT screen on the 390 Duke, the RC 200 is likely to sport the LCD unit from the 250 Adventure. Other than this, dual-channel ABS will be offered as standard just like the current version.
