- Appears more spacious than the current 450X
- Spotted testing around Bengaluru
- Likely to get a new battery and motor setup
The upcoming Ather family electric scooter, called Rizta, has been spotted testing once again. Although the Bengaluru-based EV was heavily camouflaged this time, the spy shots reveal ample data about its design and bodywork.
Compared to the current 450X lineup, the Ather Rizta appears comparatively larger and bigger in proportions. With practicality and overall usability in focus, it seems that the Rizta gets a larger floorboard area as well as a longer seat. Then, from its previous images, we also know that Rizta’s design is relatively conservative and should appeal to a slightly mature audience. As seen in these images, the scooter is being load tested with a rider and pillion, alongside the luggage at the rear and the weight at the front as well. Being a family electric scooter, it is expected to be ridden with ample weight and a pillion, as we see in the real world.
While the performance figures are yet to be known, we think Ather would use a new battery and motor setup. This would be oriented towards offering better and higher range than current 450X scooters while clocking decent highway speeds too. That said, the Ather Rizta is expected to be loaded with features like full LED illumination, a fully digital screen, ride modes, smartphone connectivity, fast charging, and more.
Ather Energy is likely to offer telescopic front forks and a mono-shock at the rear while the braking hardware would include a front and rear disc mounted on 12-inch front and rear wheels.
The brand has already slated the Rizta EV’s launch for mid-2024. So we expect an official announcement around June of this year. As for the pricing, we expect Ather to price it around Rs. 1.25 - Rs. 1.45 lakh (ex-showroom). It will rival the TVS iQube range.
