The top honcho of BMW Motorrad has finally revealed some technical details of its upcoming bike. Steven Schaller, CEO and president, BMW Motorrad said that the first bike from the BMW-TVS alliance will be a single cylinder.
This upcoming motorcycle will be manufactured at TVS’ Hosur facility. Interestingly, this bike will be completely engineered by the German manufacturer at their research and development facility. As it was announced during the signing of the agreement BMW and TVS will share the bike platform, where BMW will cater to the premium end of the segment and TVS will make the affordable performance versions.
While Stephan was tight-lipped about the launch of this bike, we are expecting to see a global unveil of the BMW variant at the 2015 EICMA show in Italy. The TVS bike might come to the 2016 Auto Expo and when it does, expect the KTM-Bajaj alliance to feel a little nervous.
