- 80 riders selected from eight cities
- 20 shortlisted riders competed in the event
- Winners get an opportunity to travel to Austria
The first-ever KTM RC CUP customer racing program has concluded at the Madras Motor Race Track (MMRT) in Chennai. The racing program witnessed the participation of riders from eight cities.
KTM had announced the KTM RC CUP in December 2022. Over the last three months, KTM experts have shortlisted and trained KTM owners who have a passion for racing through its Racing Academy and selected the top 80 racers based on their lap timings. These top 80 racers were then mentored by the ex-MotoGP racer Jeremy McWilliams and seven-time INMRC championship-winning Emmanuel Jebaraj. Then, the top 20 made it through the demanding qualifiers and pushed their limits at the MMRT, Chennai.
The debut edition of the RC CUP was won by Navaneet Kumar from Pondicherry, while Amarnath Menon from Kozhikode and Allwin Xavier from Thrissur took the second and third positions, respectively. All three winners will now get to experience a Track Day with Jeremy McWilliams, watch a MotoGP race at the Redbull ring in Austria, and visit the prestigious KTM Motohall.
At the same event, India’s top auto media riders also got to race on the KTM RC 390 at MMRT in a friendly race.
