French rider Thomas Bourgin was killed during seventh stage’s special timed edition of the 2013 Dakar Rally. The 25 year old rider collided with an oncoming Chilean police car and suffered serious injuries which he succumbed to later.
No other details on the accident have been release by the event officials. At the time of the accident, Bourgin was in an impressive 68th position and this was his first appearance in Dakar Rally. Earlier he had participated in Tunisia Rally and Morocco rally. He is the third person to lose his life during this year’s Dakar Rally. Two others died when their taxi collided with a support car on Wednesday.
