Suzuki has launched the fuel injected version of the Gixxer SF in India at Rs 99,262 (ex-showroom, Mumbai). Christened Gixxer SF Fi , this motorcycle is currently available only in nine cities across the country. Select Suzuki dealers in these cities have started accepting bookings for the motorcycle for a token amount of Rs 5,000.
Suzuki has so far refrained from revealing technical details about the fuel injection system or the power output of the engine. While the carburetted engine delivers 14.8bhp and 14Nm of torque, we expect the fuel-injected version to be marginally more powerful. The system is expected to further improve the throttle response and to some extent the performance of the bike. The Gixxer SF Fi comes with a rear disc brake as standard.
The Gixxer SF-Fi will only be available in the MotoGP edition, though given the way this livery looks, we aren't complaining. Deliveries are expected to commence before the end of this month. Initially, the Gixxer SF Fi will only be available in the nine metro cities - Delhi, Bangalore, Chennai, Hyderabad, Pune, Kolkata, Kochi, Ahmedabad, and Mumbai. With its on-road price touching Rs 1.11 lakh, the Gixxer SF-FI will rival bigger motorcycles like the TVS Apache RTR 2004V, Hero Karizma and the Bajaj Pulsar AS200.
