When Suzuki India launched the Gixxer, it showed the industry that it has the capability to develop a very good premium commuter motorcycle. After the success of the naked version, the company is readying a fully-faired version of the bike and one prototype was spied testing in Delhi.
The test mule that was accompanied by the Gixxer was completely camouflaged. The company has made sure not to reveal too much about the bike but majority of the components are from the naked sibling. The major change is the introduction of full-fairing, which, to us, looks quite hideous. The front fascia is inspired from the company’s flagship motorcycle, the Hayabusa. The rear-view mirrors are integrated into the fairing and the windshield is quite big. The fully-faired test mule gets a single piece grab rail, unlike the dual-grab rails seen on the Gixxer and clear lens indicators. Rest of the parts like the seat, exhaust, wheels, foot-pegs, fuel tank looks very similar to the naked version.
The full-faired Gixxer will be powered by the same 155cc single-cylinder engine that produces 14.6bhp at 8,000rpm and a maximum torque of 14Nm at 6,000rpm. Once launched, the full-faired Suzuki Gixxer will compete with the Yamaha Fazer and is expected to be priced between Rs 84,000 and Rs 86,000 (ex-showroom Delhi).
Stay tuned to BikeWale as we get you more details on the fully-faired Suzuki Gixxer.
