- Gogoro Viva trademark registered
- Already retails in Taiwan at TWD 59,980
- Hero has partnered with Gogoro for EV and battery swapping technology
Hero Motocorp might introduce the Viva e-scooter from Gogoro's lineup as their first electric vehicle in India. Recently, we reported the strategic partnership between Hero Motocorp and the Taiwan-based Gogoro for electric vehicle and battery swapping technology in the country. Now, we also got to know that Gogoro has trademarked the name Viva for the Indian market.
Gogoro is a Taiwan-based company that has set up around 2000 battery swapping stations to date that are collectively being used for about 2,65,000 battery swaps every day. If the same technology and infrastructure is replicated here, it will take care of the worries of electric vehicle buyers in the country. This might give Hero an edge over its competitors.
The Viva electric scooter might come with features like keyless go, synchronised braking system, reverse button, USB charging ports, cup holders and funky colour options. However, details related to its battery and motor are still awaited. Gogoro already retails the electric scooter Viva Mix in their hometown at TWD 59,980, which converts to Rs 1.56 lakh.
