Gulf Oil Lubricants has launched their flagship product, the Pride 4T Plus, in India. The engine oil is available in three different grades and caters to 110cc to 180cc four-stroke motorcycles.
Gulf claims that the Pride 4T Plus is blended with superior quality base oils and ‘oxy-bitors’ for improved performance and long life for the engine. The Gulf Pride 4T Plus exceeds the requirements of JASO MA2 and of API SM. JASO is a Japanese organization which grades motorcycle oils according to the oil’s ability to resist clutch friction and the protection offered against engine and gearbox wear. API on the other hand is an American institute which grades oils for their valve train wear.
Gulf Pride 4T Plus is available in three different viscosity grades: 20W-40, 10W-30 and 20W-50. It can be used for commuter motorcycles right from the Hero Passion XPro to the TVS Apache RTR 180. Prices start at Rs 310 for the 900ml pack of 10W-30 and go up to Rs 350 for the one-litre pack of 20W-50. With an eye on the bulk of the Indian two-wheeler commuter segment, Gulf is looking at significantly improving its market share with the new Pride 4T Plus.
