Sri Lanka’s Aaron Gunawardena won both the Suzuki Gixxer Cup races in the Open category, at the Buddh International Circuit in Round 4.
According to reports, in the first race, with just two laps to go, Gunawardena passed Meka Vidhuraj, who had won three of the six races prior to Round 4. Gunawardena took the chequered flag by 1.784s. Vivian Gladwin was also a part of the fight for the lead in the first half of the race, but eventually had to settle for third spot on the podium. Vishwadev Muraleedharan, who has graduated from the Novice category, claimed fourth while Prabhu V took fifth.
The second race and outcome was very similar to that of the first, Gunawardena briefly lost on the final lap, only to retake it to complete a double win. Vidhuraj took the second spot, just 0.024s ahead of Gladwin who took third, while setting the fastest lap of the race on his final lap. Thakur came in fourth, while Muraleedharan secured fifth.
