Harley-Davidson India recently revealed pricing of the 1200 Custom BS6 in India. The cruiser motorcycle is priced at Rs 10.77 lakh (ex-showroom). Around that price, there are three other motorcycles you can buy. Here is what the list looks like-
In Harley’s showrooms itself you would find the Forty Eight at Rs 10.61 lakh. The Forty Eight adopts a city cruiser styling thanks to the slightly bent forward riding stance and forward-set footpegs. It also gets a small 8-litre fuel tank that complements its character. Nevertheless, the Harley-Davidson Forty Eight comes powered by a 1202cc, V-twin engine that produces 97Nm of torque at 4250rpm.
The Triumph Scrambler 1200 derives its styling from its younger sibling, the Street Scrambler. It gets long travel suspension and rides on alloy wheels wrapped in dual-sport tyres. Moreover, the Scrambler 1200 XC also sports a high-set dual exhaust and is equipped with top-spec suspension and braking sourced from Ohlins and Brembo respectively. Powering the motorcycle is a 1200cc, parallel-twin engine that produces 89bhp at 7400rpm and 110Nm of torque at 3950rpm. Triumph has priced the Scrambler 1200 XC at Rs 10.73 lakh.
If you want a touring motorcycle in the same price range as the Harley-Davidson 1200 Custom, there is the Kawasaki Versys 1000 at Rs 10.89 lakh. The motorcycle comes with comfortable seats, a tall windscreen and an electronic suite that consists of cruise control, power modes, cornering ABS as well as traction control. The Versys 1000 uses a 1043cc, inline-four cylinder engine that puts out 118bhp of power and 102Nm of torque.
