Harley Davidson, the iconic American bike manufacturer has been seeing double digit growth in India. The company that entered the Indian market in 2009 has sold over 2000 motorcycles and will continue to invest in the Indian market.
The company recently opened a new showroom in Indore and will add two new dealerships in Pune and Jaipur soon. Harley Davidson currently sells motorcycles through completely knocked down (CKD) and completely-built unit (CBU) route, where the former helps the company to save tax and pass on the benefits to consumers by pricing the motorcycles very aggressively.
"At Harley Davidson India, we are enthusiastic about this market. We are a lifestyle brand. Last thing you do is to cut down on your passion and Harley is all about passion. We have seen a steady growth here," said Anoop Prakash, managing director, Harley Davidson India.
