Harley Davidson has launched the 2014 model of the Street Glide in India. It would be sold in India through completely-built-up (CBU) route at all eleven dealerships and has been priced at Rs 29 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).
Harley brought up the idea of Project Rushmore where they started taking feedback and information from their existing customers and started implementing them on their 2014 models. The Street Glide was a part of this project.
All these changes are evidently visible on the 2014 model of the Street Glide. A High Output twin Cam 103 engine produces 138Nm of torque at 3500rpm. Halogen lighting, reflex linked brakes with ABS, tweaked suspensions are some of the additions to the features. The styling has been improved with a new glossy paint-job and chrome boosting up the bling quotient. The huge front fairing gets a new slipstream venting system and seats altered for rider and pillion comfort. The motorcycle sports many features like a new ‘Boom! Box 4.3 system’ with colour screen and Bluetooth connectivity combined with voice recognition, text-to-speech technology, GPS Navigation and support for intercom and CB communications all in a single module.
Mr. Anoop Prakash, Managing Director, Harley Davidson India said, “Project RUSHMORE is an epic, customer-focused journey by Harley-Davidson to fundamentally improve the riding experience for owners of touring models. It not only showcases our commitment to our core customers but also represents a new direction in product development at Harley-Davidson. The new Street Glide is our premier offering for the Indian market and offers the perfect balance between custom touring style and long haul functionality. With its stunning design and rider focused engineering, I am confident that it will rouse a sense and feeling of freedom like never before.”
