- Gets special paint scheme
- Gets a quickshifter, aux lights, top box and panniers
- Powered by a 1252cc, V-twin that makes 150bhp and 127Nm
Harley-Davidson has unveiled the Pan America 1250 CVO and this is the first time that the adventure bike has received the Custom Vehicle Operations Treatment. The Harley-Davidsons that get the CVO badge feature a number of special add-ons and paint schemes to set them apart from their “regular” versions. It is the case with the Pan America 1250 CVO as well.
The bodywork is the same as other Pan America ADVs but the CVO treatment gives it a unique colourway. The base colour is black over which there are coats of bright orange and silver stripes which visually pop out. There’s a generous smattering of orange on the crash guard and the subframe while the orange piping on the seat is also neatly executed. The Pan America’s design is rather unconventional among other ADVs and the new colours on the CVO bike make it stand out even more than before.
With the CVO badge slapped on, this Pan America, as expected, is loaded with features. The list includes an aluminium sump guard, AUX lights, tubeless wire spoke wheels and the Screamin’ Eagle Quickshifter. We wish Harley had fitted a Screamin’ Eagle exhaust for good measure. Capping the list of special bits on this bike are the aluminium panniers and top box, replete with CVO name badges.
The other features, like the semi-active suspension, Adaptive Ride Height System and touchscreen display that you see on the Pan America 1250 Special are also present on the CVO.
Unlike what has been regular practice with other CVO bikes where the engine has been tweaked to make more power, the 1252cc, V-twin in the Harley-Davidson Pan America CVO is in the same state of tune as the other variants. This engine develops 150bhp and 127Nm. It isn’t the most powerful engine in the segment but it packs quite a punch to propel this big ADV to some serious speeds.
The Harley-Davidson Pan America 1250 CVO is priced at a premium of $8,000 over the ‘Special’ variant. Expect the Pan America CVO to bear a similar Rs 5-6 lakh premium if and when the bike is launched in India.
