Harley Davidson recalls over 29,000 motorcycles in US

Harley Davidson has recalled more than 29,000 models of its 2014 touring motorcycles because of a problem with their hydraulic clutch system.  The company has issued a “Do Not Ride” notice to owners and “Do Not Deliver” notice to Harley Davidson dealers until this issue is fixed.

Out of them 25,185 include touring models and 3,861 Custom Vehicle Operations and Trikes that have been manufactured between May 3 and October 14, 2013. The American maker said if the clutch does not disengage as intended, the rider may have difficulty slowing or stopping the motorcycle, which could result in an accident. 

The company has started notifying its customers and mentioned that the dealers will pick up, inspect and make the repairs at no cost. Out of all the Touring models, the Road King and the Street Glide is sold in India through the completely-built-up (CBU) route. But the Indian arm of the company hasn’t issued a recall notice till now for the motorcycles.
