Harley Davidson Street 750 unveiled in India

Harley Davidson has unveiled the all-new Street 750 motorcycle at the ongoing 2014 India Bike Week. The entry-level motorcycle is built in India and is based on the new platform that has been developed specifically for emerging markets in Europe and Asia.

The Street 750 made its global debut at the 2013 EICMA in Italy, where the American manufacturer also unveiled the Street 500 that will be built and exported from India. Both these motorcycles will be built at Harley Davidson’s facility in Bawal, Haryana.

The most affordable Harley in India (once launched) is powered by a 749cc liquid-cooled V-Twin engine. The belt driven rear wheel gets power via six-speed gearbox. The wheels are 17-inch and 15-inch at the front and rear respectively and come with MRF zapper tyres. The Street 750 uses a single disc / single caliper step-up both at the front and rear for braking.

The motorcycle looks a bit basic by Harley standards, but certainly has the aura of the American brand. The iconic manufacturer has confirmed that the Street 750 will be available for an on-road price of close to Rs 5 lakh.
