Harley Davidson is planning to concentrate more on North-eastern India which includes states like Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Tripura, Assam, Manipur, Mizoram and Meghalaya. During a recently bike festival which was held in Goa, Harley Davidson concluded their first national HOG rally which attracted over 600 bikers from all over India and out of this, there were quite a few Harley owners from North-East as well.
“We have a dealer in Kolkata right now that serves our customers in the northeast. As critical mass builds, we may open another dealership,” said Anoop Prakash, managing director, Harley Davidson.
The north-eastern states are known for their rock music, bands and also strong prevalence of some common western culture. This makes a perfect blend for the company whose culture includes music and brotherhood. “We find that there’s a lot of pull from those places and we are hoping to reach like-minded people who want to experience the brand,” he added.
