Harley-Davidson India has revealed the booking numbers for its most affordable motorcycle, the X440. The brand managed to fetch 25,597 buyers for its smallest cruiser in the first month of its launch when the X440’s asking price started from Rs. 2.29 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). However, Harley-Davidson later revised the prices by Rs. 10,500 and it is now priced at Rs. 2,39,500 (ex-showroom, Delhi) onwards.
For reference, the Triumph Speed 400 managed to cross 10,000 bookings in the first 10 days. It too was launched at an introductory price of Rs. 2.23 lakh but later on, received a Rs. 10,000 price hike. So, the Speed 400 currently retails at Rs. 2.33 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
Harley-Davidson has equipped the X440 with a 440cc single-cylinder engine that makes 27bhp and 38Nm. It’s linked to a six-speed gearbox. The bike’s top-spec model gets smartphone connectivity too along with the digital console. Meanwhile, the hardware comprises USD front forks and dual rear shocks whereas the brakes consist of a single front and rear disc with ABS.
Harley Davidson currently offers the X440 in three variants: Denim, Vivid and S. The most affordable model is the Denim and its price is mentioned above. Meanwhile, the Vivid and S trims cost Rs. 2,59,500 and Rs. 2,79,500 (all ex-showroom, Delhi) respectively.
