Hero MotoCorp has announced that it will commence the deliveries of the Harley-Davidson X440 on 15 October 2023 in India. Moreover, the new booking window for the motorcycle will open on 16 October. It can be booked through all Harley-Davidson showrooms across India and select Hero MotoCorp outlets.
The X440 has been co-developed by Hero and Harley and it is being manufactured at the former’s Neemrana factory in Rajasthan. Test rides for customers who have already pre-booked the bike have begun from 1 September. Hero had unveiled the X440 in July this year and the company says it received over 25,000 bookings in the first month itself. To cater to the first set of customers, bookings had to be temporarily closed. The X440 comes in three variants - Denim, Vivid, and S with prices starting from Rs. 2,39,500 and going up to Rs. 2,79,500 (both prices are ex-showroom).
Powering the motorcycle is a 440cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine that produces 27bhp and 38Nm and comes mated to a six-speed gearbox. Underpinned by a steel trellis frame, it rides on an 18-17-inch alloy wheel combination that is suspended by KYB upside-down forks and dual springs. Braking is handled by a single disc at both ends with dual-channel ABS. As for the features, it comes equipped with a slipper clutch, a digital console with optional Bluetooth connectivity, full-LED lighting, and a USB charger.
