- X440 mid-variant gets Rs 15,000 price cut
- Offer valid till 15 August
- Could be due to the Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450 launch
Harley-Davidson’s most affordable motorcycle – the X440 has received a good discount. The mid-spec variant – Vivid has gotten Rs 15,000 cheaper.
With this price cut, the mid-spec variant is now tagged at Rs 2.45 lakh (ex-showroom). But this is a limited-period offer and is valid only till 15 August. While it is always good to see a discount on premium motorcycles, it is clear that this particular variant isn’t being bought by Indian consumers as expected. Plus, the enquiries for this Harley may have reduced due to the launch of the Royal Enfield Guerilla 450. Due to this, a few dealers would have additional stock, which the company is trying to clear. The Vivid variant misses out on diamond-cut alloy wheels and e-sim features on the 3.5-inch instrument cluster that is seen on the top-spec S model.
The X440 takes design inspiration from Harley-Davidson’s XR1200 of the yesteryears. It looks unique with a round headlamp crowned by an offset console, a boxy fuel tank, and a long tail section with chunky grab rails. The neo-retro design is complemented by modern features like full-LED lighting, a digital console with Bluetooth connectivity, dual-channel ABS, a side-stand engine cut-off function, and a USB charging port.
Powering the motorcycle is a 440cc, air/oil-cooled engine that churns out 27bhp and 38Nm and comes mated to a five-speed gearbox. Underpinned by a trellis frame, it rides on an 18-17-inch alloy wheel combination. The suspension duties are handled by KYB USD forks up front and dual springs at the rear while a single disc at both ends takes care of the braking duties. Weighing 190.5kg, the cruiser boasts a fuel tank capacity of 13.5 litres.
