- Garners over 25,000 bookings since launch
- Available at Harley-Davidson and select Hero MotoCorp outlets
After recently commencing the deliveries of the new Harley-Davidson X440 in India, Hero MotoCorp has announced that the new booking window for the motorcycle is now open. The company has delivered close to 1,000 units of the X440 across 100 dealerships, including Harley-Davidson and select Hero MotoCorp outlets in India. Moreover, if you are looking to buy this motorcycle, it is available for test rides at the dealerships.
The X440 has been co-developed by Hero MotoCorp and Harley-Davidson and is being manufactured at the former’s Garden Factory located in Neemrana, Rajasthan. The motorcycle was launched in July this year, and it has received over 25,000 bookings since then, claims Hero MotoCorp. It is available in three variants – Denim, Vivid, and S with ex-showroom prices starting from Rs. 2,39,500 up to Rs. 2,79,500.
The X440 takes design inspiration from Harley-Davidson’s XR1200 of the yesteryears. It looks unique with a round headlamp crowned by an offset console, boxy fuel tank, and a long tail section with chunky grab rails. The neo-retro design is complemented by modern features like full-LED lighting, a digital console with Bluetooth connectivity, dual-channel ABS, side-stand engine cut-off function, and a USB charging port.
Powering the motorcycle is a 440cc, air/oil-cooled engine that churns out 27bhp and 38Nm and comes mated to a five-speed gearbox. Underpinned by a trellis frame, it rides on an 18-17-inch alloy wheel combination. The suspension duties are handled by KYB USD forks up front and dual springs at the rear while a single disc at both ends takes care of the braking duties. Weighing 190.5kg, the cruiser boasts a fuel tank capacity of 13.5 litres.
The Harley-Davidson X440 competes against the Royal Enfield Classic 350, Triumph Speed 400, and the Benelli Imperiale 400.
