- Harley-Davidson Touring, CVO and Trike models to get Android Auto
- To be available in bikes equipped with Boom! Box GTS infotainment system
- Harley will become the first two-wheeler brand to introduced this feature
Harley-Davidson is all set to make its Touring, CVO and Trike models more fun and engaging from 2021 by introducing Android Auto feature in these bikes. Only available in four-wheelers till date, Harley-Davidson will be the first two-wheeler manufacturer to roll out this functionality.
Starting next year, all the Harley offerings equipped with its Boom! Box GTS infotainment system will come equipped with Android Auto. With the help of this feature, the rider will be able to access Google Maps for navigation, stream music and control it through voice assistant, and manage calls and messages. Notably, Android Auto provides much more convenience as compared to conventional Bluetooth-enabled displays. The former allows one to manage most of the smartphone’s functions through the display itself.
In order to access Android Auto, the smartphone will have to be connected with the display through a USB cable. The same goes for Harley offerings which get Apple CarPlay, a feature which the bike maker has been already offering in select models since 2018.
The Boom! Box GTS infotainment system is the latest version of Harley’s 6.5GT setup. The bikes equipped with the latter can be updated with the new GTS unit, which the company sells as an accessory.
