Harley-Davidson has announced the introduction of the extended warranty program for all its motorcycles in India. This has been done to make sure that the customers can have peace of mind once they buy a bike.
Currently, the iconic American manufacturer is offering a two-year warranty for all the bikes. With this new program, the customers can choose to avail extended warranty for an additional two years, which is a really good move.
Apart from new customers, this program can also be availed by customers who have purchased their Harley-Davidson motorcycles on or after April 2, 2015. Insurance under extended warranty is underwritten by ICICI Lombard General Insurance, whose team closely works with Harley-Davidson personnel to cater to the needs of Harley-Davidson owners in India.
“We are pleased to introduce the extended warranty program for our customers, a first for the premium motorcycle segment in the country. It is a program specifically designed to protect the time Harley owners spend on their motorcycle and enhance their riding experience by minimizing unexpected repair cost,” said Rajiv Vohra, director, sales and dealer development, Harley-Davidson India.
While this is a really good move by Harley-Davidson, we believe this was done due to dwindling sales. The company has started feeling the heat from Triumph Motorcycles India that has become aggressive with its overall operations and sales.
