The Harley-Davidson Iron 883, which belongs to the brand’s Sportster family, has become slightly more expensive in India. The motorcycle had received the BS6 update in March this year and was priced at Rs 9.26 lakh. Now, the American bike maker has increased its price by Rs 12,000 and the Iron 883 BS6 costs Rs 9.38 lakh (both prices are ex-showroom).
The design of the motorcycle is a mix of modern and retro elements. With a round headlamp, flat handlebar, peanut-shaped fuel tank, single seat and chopped fenders, the Iron 883 boasts of a quintessential bobber styling. The presence of alloy wheels and blacked-out treatment on several components lend it a modern appeal.
Powering the Iron 883 is Harley’s Evolution motor which is an 883cc, V-twin, air-cooled unit which is capable of producing 70Nm of torque at 3,500rpm. Damping duties are carried out by 39mm Showa telescopic forks up front and preload adjustable dual shock absorbers at the rear. The 19-16-inch wheels are anchored by disc brakes at both ends. Harley also offers a range of styling and performance accessories with the bike.
