Harley-Davidson has launched the Breakout for the Indian market at Rs 16.28 (ex-showroom Delhi). This makes Breakout the fourth motorcycle in the Softail range after the Fat Boy, Fat Boy Special and the Heritage Softail Classic.
Inspired by the classic drag bikes of the 50s and 60s, the Breakout is a premium custom cruiser that grabs everyone’s attention. The Breakout gets a low muscular profile, big wheels and chopped fenders enhancing its overall looks and styling.
The Breakout is powered by 1688cc air-cooled twin cam motor which churns out 129Nm of peak torque at 3,000rpm. Just like the rest of the motorcycles, Harley-Davidson has not disclosed the power figure for this Softail model. The engine is mated to a six-speed gearbox that transfers power to the rear wheel via belt drive. Braking power comes from the new 4-piston fixed caliper with 32 and 34 mm pistons, premium caliper piston coating to minimise initial displacement and a larger 300 mm rotor, while Anti-lock braking system (ABS) is standard on this bike.
The Harley-Davidson Breakout has a kerb weight of 321kg and a fuel tank capacity of 19 litres. The bike will be sold in India through the completely-knocked-down (CBU) route and will be available at all Harley-Davidson showrooms in India.
