The Harley-Davidson Road Glide Special has been launched in India at Rs 32.81 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The top of the line model in Harley-Davidson’s Touring family of cruisers, the Road Glide Special is sold as a completely built unit (CBU).
The 2017 Road Glide Special continues to sport the iconic ‘shark nose’ frame-mounted fairing with the twin headlamp setup. The raised handlebars and a low seat offer a comfortable riding seating position. It also gets a host of touring-oriented features like cruise control, LED headlamps, infotainment system with a 6.5-inch touchscreen, ABS, hard case panniers and a smart security system. Under the skin is the Milwaukee Eight 107 powertrain. This V-twin engine is rated at 151Nm of torque and is offered with a six-speed transmission. The Road Glide rides on 19-inch front and 16-inch rear cast aluminium wheels. ABS with linked brakes is offered as standard.
The Harley-Davidson Road Glide is offered in four paint schemes – black, blue, red and silver. It competes with other heavyweight touring motorcycles like the Indian Chief Vintage and the Honda Goldwing.
