- Harley-Davidson to be launched soon
- Gets a sportster-styling, 975cc V-Twin engine
- Expected to be priced around Rs 14.5 lakh
Harley-Davidson India teased the arrival of the Nightster in India a couple of weeks ago and it seems like the official launch of the motorcycle is just around the corner.
The Harley-Davidson Nightster which is part of the brand’s Sportster range is expected to replace the Iron 883 and Forty Eight. And it seems to derive its styling from the Sportster and the Night Rod that is now discontinued. So what you see is a tear-drop-shaped fuel tank sitting atop a partially exposed frame and the 975cc, V-twin underneath. The long and low profile and the two-in-one exhaust complete the appeal of the motorcycle.
That said, the highlight is the new-age liquid-cooled motor. This 975cc, 60-degree, V-twin unit produces 90bhp at 7,500rpm and 95Nm at 5,750rpm. And just like its engine, the list of features on the Nightster is new-age. It comes with three ride modes – Road, Sport, and Rain along with traction control, ABS, and a torque control system. The fuel tank capacity is true to the Harley-Davidson Sportster range at a mere 11.7-litre. Now, the Nightster is likely to be offered in a choice of three colour options- black, grey, and red with an expected pricing in the ball park of Rs 14 lakh-14.5 lakh, ex-showroom.
