Harley-Davidson entered the fast-growing adventure touring segment with the new Pan America 1250. Although it has been available abroad for a few months, it was recently launched in India. We were fortunate enough to spend some time with it and you can read all about our experience here. For now, let’s check out some of its alluring pictures from our first ride review.
The design of the Pan America 1250 is quite unique with the front fascia inspired by the Road Glide touring motorcycle. This horizontally-stacked unit is surrounded by an angular cowl and a tall windscreen on top.
There’s a sculpted fuel tank with the Harley logo, a split seat setup, and a sturdy luggage carrier at the rear. Notably, the rider’s seat gets a manual, three-level height adjustability option.
The Pan America 1250 is unlike any other Harley with as many features and electronics as you’d expect in a modern day full-size adventure touring motorcycle.
It gets a full-LED lighting setup with cornering lights and a 6.8-inch full-colour TFT instrument cluster with a host of information on offer. This console gets Bluetooth connectivity and gives access to controls for music, calls and navigation.
The available set of electronic gizmos include lean-sensitive traction control, cornering ABS, electronically linked braking system, hill hold control, cruise control, and engine braking control.
The Special variant of the motorcycle also offers eight riding modes in total. These include five pre-programmed riding modes, and three customisable modes.
Another highlight of the Special variant is the presence of electronically adjustable semi-active suspension from Showa. It adjusts the suspension damping according to the selected riding mode for optimum ride and handling.
Powering the Pan America 1250 is a high-revving, Revolution Max, 1,252cc engine that churns out 150.19bhp of power at 8,750rpm and 128Nm of peak torque at 6,750rpm.
The standard model of the Harley-Davidson Pan America 1250 is priced at Rs 16.90 lakh while the Special variant which we tested costs Rs 19.99 lakh (both prices are ex-showroom).
