Harley-Davidson has issued a recall for over 2.5 lakh bikes over potential brake failure. The CVO touring and the VSRC range are a part of this recall.
The American manufacturer said that the deposits may form on components within the brake system if the DOT 4 brake fluid is not replaced for a prolonged period of time beyond the 2-year maintenance schedule specified in the oOwner’s mManual. This could result into a sudden and a complete loss of brakes without warning.
The affected bikes have been manufactured between 2008 and 2011. The company has asked the dealers to get in touch with affected owners to bring their bikes to the service centers. The engineers will flush and replace brake fluid free of cost.
The company has sold some CVO touring and VRod bikes in India. We’re expecting the Indian arm of Harley-Davidson to get in touch with the affected owners.
