- The range of the LiveWire is up from 177kms to 225kms
- Charging time has also been reduced due to DC Fast Charging
- Charging stations will be available at dealerships selling the LiveWire
Harley-Davidson has revealed some more details about the LiveWire which will be the company’s first production electric motorcycle. Going by the details we know so far, the LiveWire will be a fast and highly-modern electric motorcycle but was claimed to return a city range of 177kms, which was a major shortcoming. However, the company has addressed this issue by reportedly increasing the range of the motorcycle to 225kms in urban riding conditions.
Moving on, the American bikemaker has also been working on reducing the charging time of the motorcycle. The LiveWire now supports DC Fast Charging technology which is also known as the level 3 charging. This setup charges the motorcycle faster as it doubles the voltage supply as compared to conventional chargers. Resultantly, the LiveWire can now be charged up to 80 per cent in 40 minutes and up to 100 per cent in an hour.
Besides that, Harley-Davidson has also stated that charging stations for the LiveWire will be available at the dealerships handling the sales of the bike. The company claims, this will give the motorcycle owners a chance to get well acquainted with the fellow Harley owners.
The Harley-Davidson LiveWire will be a feature-packed electric bike offering gizmos such as drag-torque slip control system (DSCS), cornering ABS and traction control. It will also be a quick accelerating motorcycle thanks to the availability of torque even at the slightest throttle input. Now, coming to the price, the recently-announced pricing for US is USD 29,799 (which is approximately Rs 20.89 lakhs) and it can be pre-ordered now. The deliveries in US are expected to begin by the end of this year. Expect Harley-Davidson to bring the LiveWire to the Indian shores by early-2020.
