- Building new R&D facility in Northern California
- Will develop new range of e-bikes
Harley-Davidson has decided to build a new R&D facility in California. However, this facility will be used only for the development of electric bikes and its components.
This new facility will be based in Silicon Valley, Northern California and will be used to develop e-bikes, battery technologies, motors and other things related to EV. This R&D facility will start its operations by late 2018.
Through its new future initiative “More Roads to Harley-Davidson”, the company plans to build a new range of electric vehicles that will be launched in the next few years. Its first electric bike, the Livewire will go on sale next year and will be available in majority of the markets. The American manufacturer will have more accessible products in its portfolio by 2022.
