Harley-Davidson India launched the Street 750 at the 2014 Auto Expo at a mouth-watering price of Rs 4.10 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). This price has resulted in many Indian consumers walking into their 13 showrooms with a cheque book.
There has been news for a particular showroom in Maharashtra receiving around 100 bookings for this new bike within 10 days of the launch. If this is the case with just one showroom, we can expect the numbers to run into thousands if we considered the entire India sales network of the American motorcycle maker. Financial express reports that the delivery period of the bikes have been increased from one month to three months due to increase in demand.
The Street 750 is the most affordable Harley-Davidson one can buy in India. As most of the components are sourced from domestic suppliers, the company was able to price it very competitively. The Indian arm of the American manufacturer is also betting on their export for this bike and with constant fluctuation in the rupee value, they might see a drastic increase in their income.
