- Harley-Davidson Street Rod black colour price reduced by Rs 56,500
- Vivid Black colour variant is priced at Rs 5.99 lakh
- Other three paint schemes are Rs 68,000 more expensive
Harley-Davidson has substantially reduced the price of the Vivid Black colour variant of the Street Rod BS6 in India. The motorcycle now costs Rs 5.99 lakh, which is a reduction of Rs 56,500 over the previous pricing. Meanwhile, the rest of the paint schemes including Grey, White and Orange demand a premium of Rs 68,000 over the Black colour trim.
The Street Rod is based on the same platform as that of the Street 750, however, with certain changes which make it look and feel sportier. Cosmetically, the elements which differentiate it from the Street 750 are a large headlamp cowl, a wide and straight handlebar along with bar-end mirrors and a stubby tail section. Furthermore, it also incorporates upside down forks and a larger 17-inch rear wheel, as opposed to the telescopic forks and 15-inch wheel of the Street 750.
Powering the Harley-Davidson Street Rod is the same Revolution X, 750cc, V-twin engine which does duty on the Street 750. However, the compression ratio for the former is higher and it makes 65Nm at 4,000rpm which is 6Nm more than the latter. Stopping power for its 17-inch wheels comes from dual discs up front and a single disc at the rear with dual-channel ABS.
In India, the Harley-Davidson Street Rod competes against the likes of the Triumph Street Twin and Kawasaki Vulcan S.
