A study commissioned by Harley Davidson and conducted by Kelton Global shows that women who ride motorcycles are happier and content compared to the ones who do not.
The result of the research done by Kelton Global, a market research company, included interviews of women which comprised of both, motorcycle riders and non-riders. The study and evaluation interrogated 1,013 females who ride motorcycles and 1,016 who did not. The analysis shows that more than 50 per cent of the ladies who ride the motorcycle consider motorcycle riding to add to their happiness and more than 75 per cent say that their lives advanced since they started riding a motorcycle. Increase in confidence, satisfaction, freedom and sense of humour has been attributed to motorcycle riding.
Claudia Garber, Director of Women's Outreach for Harley-Davidson, said, "Riding a motorcycle is the ultimate form of freedom and self-expression, so it makes sense that women riders are happier in life and, in general, feel more fulfilled. That is why learning to ride a motorcycle is the perfect gift you can give yourself and the best resolution to make for a truly life-changing new year."
We do not have a way of validating the report and unfortunately nor do we have many women riders in this country. However, we certainly want to believe in the results and encourage not just women but also more men to take up motorcycle riding – of course with safety gears and proper guidance.
