- Is likely to be called S2 Del Mar
- Expected to be unveiled in Q2 2022
- Affordable S3 models to follow
Harley-Davidson’s LiveWire brand that has been created to focus solely on electrification is expected to launch a new motorcycle sometime between April and June 2022.
While not much is known about the design of the motorcycle that is currently called the S2 Del Mar, we do know that it will use a proprietary driveline called the Arrow architecture. With the battery, inverter, charger, speed controller, and motor all in one, it would make for a cost-effective package that can be used with minor tweaks on many platforms.
This would also means that the updates to one piece of tech could also trickle down to the many machines. It is similar to what Yamaha has with the CP2 platform which has spawned the XSR700, Tenere 700, MT-07, and the R7 as well. Moreover, we also know that the next-gen of LiveWire bikes would be the S3 models; more affordable and mass-market versions of the S2s that are said to be produced with the brand's manufacturing partner- Kymco.
