- Harley-Davidson to reveal new LiveWire Del Mar
- Will sit below the existing LiveWire One
Harley-Davidson is all set to introduce a new electric motorcycle, an online report suggests. To be called the LiveWire Del Mar, it will sit below the existing LiveWire One and will debut in the second quarter of 2022.
The Del Mar will be based on the LiveWire’s new ARROW platform which uses the battery pack, electronics, and motor together to form the chassis which has helped in optimising weight, cost, and efficiency. The S2 version of this platform, in particular, is meant for middle-weight level of performance. Interestingly, the ARROW platform of LiveWire will be used in smaller forms for more affordable models in the future.
As of now, there’s no confirmation on the type of design that the Del Mar will feature. It is expected to follow the flat-tracker theme design sketches of which were revealed a long time back. And of course, the electric motorcycle will be a quintessential high-tech EV on the modernity front. It will be capable of receiving firmware over the air (FOTA) updates for improving various functionalities of the motorcycle.
It seems uncertain that Harley-Davidson will bring its electric two-wheelers to India anytime soon. However, as the demand grows for high-end EVs, the company might consider it in the distant future.
