Harley-Davidson India created a storm in the premium Indian motorcycle market with the introduction of the Street 750 this year. Within few days of its official bookings commencement, the company got very a good response from the Indian consumers. However, it doesn’t want to stop there.
The American manufacturer wants to woo the women rides that will directly help them reach more customers. As per Harley’s global sales report, one in 10 motorcycles is sold to a woman and the sale to the fairer sex is growing by 30 per cent annually. The American manufacture will launch a tweaked version for the Street 750 in India. International markets will also get the tweaked Street 500.
Harley-Davidson is expected to give away the big fuel tank for a smaller one; less chrome will be used in this version , but note that, unlike other Harley’s, the Street runs on minimal chrome. For better handling and grip, the seat will be lowered, smaller handle grips will be provided and the foot pegs will have a different position.
This is a very good move by the company considering the fact that there is a growing interest among women regarding motorcycles. Offering them a motorcycle that will suit their personality, will be a win-win situation for both, the company and the customer. But one thing we want to say, the Indian motorcycle scenario is changing for good.
