Harley-Davidson India launched its most affordable and smallest motorcycle for the Indian market, the X440, yesterday, 5 June 2023. The bike has been developed in conjunction with Hero MotoCorp, and here are the product’s launch highlights.
What’s the design of the new Harley-Davidson X440 like?
The latest offering from the American brand is yet another cruiser with a nice retro-modern design. It features a round headlight with bullet indicators and also gets a nut-shaped fuel tank followed by a single-piece seat. Harley-Davidson has equipped the X440 with a wide handlebar and neutral set footpegs and the overall riding posture seems quite relaxed too.
How much engine capacity does the new X440 get?
Powering the new Harley-Davidson cruiser is a 440cc, single-cylinder, oil and air-cooled engine with an output of 27bhp at 6,000rpm and 38Nm of peak torque at 4,000rpm. The motor is linked to a six-speed gearbox.
What features has Harley-Davidson offered on the X440?
Apart from LED illumination, the X440 also gets a fully digital console. It houses the speedometer, odometer, trip meter, fuel level readout, and more. Harley-Davidson has also offered Bluetooth connectivity and turn-by-turn navigation with the same console, a USB charging port, and music control but only for the top-spec model. The bike also gets ABS and a side-stand engine cut-off function for its safety net.
What’s the hardware setup for the X440?
The new X440 rides on KYB front USD forks and gas-charged twin rear shocks with seven-step preload adjustability. Meanwhile, the braking hardware comprises a 320mm front and a 240mm rear disc. However, the base model rides on tube-type spoke wheels, whereas the others get alloy wheels with tubeless tyres.
How much does the new Harley-Davidson X440 cost in India?
The asking price for the base model of the Harley-Davidson X440 is set at Rs. 2.29 lakh, while the remaining trims are priced at Rs. 2.49 lakh and Rs. 2.69 lakh (all ex-showroom, Delhi). The official bookings for the new Harley-Davidson X440 will commence today.
