- Harley’s second electric motorcycle to sport flat-track inspired design
- Will be positioned below the Livewire
- Likely to be launched by 2021
Harley-Davidson stepped into the electric two-wheeler world with the Livewire and has now revealed that its portfolio will also include ‘mid’ and ‘low’ power motorcycles and scooters by 2022.
The Milwaukee-based manufacturer has also revealed the design of what could be its second electric motorcycle. This motorcycle would be part of the mid power range and be positioned below the Livewire making it a more affordable proposition. In terms of design, the electric motorcycle which is currently named the EDT600R, sports a flat-track inspired design. It gets minimal bodywork, a long seat and a competition number plate to complete its look.
Furthermore, the design sketch reveals that the Harley Davidson Livewire’s younger sibling will ride on dual sport tyres suspended from inverted forks upfront and an offset monoshock at the rear. While specifications and details are unknown, the motorcycle seems to get oil cooling instead of the liquid-cooled motor on the Livewire.
By 2021, EVs will come with some ground breaking features and technology and Harley would undoubtedly equip this motorcycle with the latest gizmos. We can expect Harley-Davidson to launch the motorcycle in India a couple of months after its global unveil.
