One of the most awaited launches of 2024 – the Bajaj CNG bike will take place within a day. This new motorcycle is being positioned as the world’s first CNG motorcycle which could change the two-wheeler industry for good.
Over the last few months, we have talked possibly everything about the bike through patent drawings, spy shots and some teasers too. In almost all stories, we talked about the bike getting the dual fuelling system – CNG and petrol and also some of its cycle parts. But there’s one thing we didn’t talk about in detail and that's the pricing, which we will do in this story.
We believe Bajaj will launch this CNG bike which is currently being rumoured to be called Bruzer with a sub Rs 1 lakh pricing. Through some spy shots, it is clear that this bike will be available in two variants, and the base variant could be priced between Rs 90,000 and Rs 95,000. The top-end model which will get additional features and maybe better paint schemes could carry a price tag of around Rs 1 lakh(ex-showroom).
Currently, the majority of the 125cc budget motorcycles are priced between Rs 75,000 and Rs 85,000. A segment above this has bikes like the TVS Raider 125, which is priced at Rs 95,000. According to rumours, this bike could get a 125cc engine, and due to its CNG nature, Bajaj would want to price this bike between the budget 125cc motorcycle and the premium 125cc one. An ex-showroom price tag of Rs 90,000 looks like a good place to be. Plus, Bajaj is one brand that has a history of pricing some of their bikes quite competitively.
With this new motorcycle, Bajaj is looking to create a new segment, rather than competing directly with the Hero Splendor. But if the overall cost of running such a bike turns out to be quite low, then there’s a high chance a lot of Splendor customers could opt for this Bajaj motorcycle.
