- Most affordable Triumph motorcycle
- Can be booked online only
- Priced at Rs. 2.23 lakh for the first 10,000 units
Triumph Motorcycles has joined forces with Bajaj Auto to bring its smallest motorcycles, the Speed 400 and the Scrambler 400X. With the prices of the Speed 400 revealed, it’s now being touted as the most affordable motorcycle in the British bikemaker’s stable. Moreover, since its official launch, the bike has received tremendous responses from buyers, and the booking numbers have been soaring. So, if you are tempted to buy the Speed 400, here’s how to book one.
From Triumph India’s official website
As of now, this is the easiest and the only procedure to reserve the Speed 400 for yourself. All you have to do is visit Triumph India’s website and select your state and city along with the motorcycle colour of your choice. Post that, click on the ‘book now’ option and proceed to enter all the necessary details like your name, phone number, and location. The site will then display the nearest dealership for your area.
Once done, the site will send an OTP to your registered phone number to verify your details. Then is the last step where you pay Rs. 2,000 (fully refundable) and book the Speed 400 for yourself. The asking price is currently set at Rs. 2.23 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) but would be hiked to Rs. 2.33 lakh once the first 10,000 units of the Speed 400 are booked. So, if you are sure of the purchase, now is the time to go for it.
On inquiring with dealers from various cities, we learned that the offline bookings haven’t commenced yet and buyers are advised to book the motorcycle from Triumph’s official website only.
The Speed 400 is powered by a 398.15cc, single-cylinder motor that makes 39.5bhp and 37.5Nm. It’s linked to a six-speed gearbox and comes with rider aids like ABS and traction control. Triumph has also offered LED illumination and a semi-digital instrument console. It’s offered in three colour schemes – Carnival Red, Phantom Black, and Caspian Blue.
