Hero had introduced Splendor iSmart with the i3S technology in 2014. This had been developed by the company in-house. The New Delhi-based company now appears to be planning to use the technology in another product as well.
The new iSmart is believed to be powered by an 110cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine that features Hero's i3S technology. Its green technology that automatically shuts the engine when idling and turns it on when needed, thus giving more fuel efficiency in congested cities. The spy-shots disclose details like the instrument cluster with blue dials, telescopic forks, 5-step adjustable suspension, black alloy wheels, a long contoured seat, split pillion grab rails and clear lens turn-indicators.
The motorcycle will take on competition in the 110cc category, while providing significantly more fuel efficiency. Hero MotoCorp could launch the new 110cc iSmart motorcycle at the Auto Expo 2016.
